The Infinity features Mammut's innovative coating finish. Before construction, every fiber in the rope receives a Teflon coating, greatly reducing internal and external friction. Internally, fibers slip lengthwise spreading the impact force of a fall over a greater length of the rope, and resulting in nearly perfect load balance throughout. Externally, there's less friction with rock and pro. The rope smushes flat over an edge in a fall, increasing the surface area of rope coming into contact with the sharp edge. The result is a more cut-resistant rope compared to others of the same diameter. And the sum result of Mammut's proprietary coating process is a rope with lighter, suppler, yet more durable construction.
